New Years Breakfast

New Years Day Breakfast
Customarily, I go out for Sunday breakfast. Usually at the Lancer on Hartzel. But, this morning I find it closed for New Years day. So, I take a run up to Thorold and see the Early Bird restaurant is packed with cars. So, I go to a small but lovely restaurant in Thorold called the Cosmos, I believe. Perhaps, a little more expensive but great breakfast.
I sit by the window and observe a beautiful young couple coming in. They have the facial colouring of Pakistanis. The guy looks bewildered as to what door to come in, so the young woman opens the door and the fellow walks in with the lady following.
I find this amusing so when I finish breakfast, I approach the table and say in all seriousness, I just want to let you know that in Canada it is customary for the man to open the door and let the woman precede, not the other way around.
Then I smile and they laugh.
Starting the year off right. Happy New Year yu all.
