Lest We Forget

Lest We Forget
The incredible scene of Canadian parliamentarians rising and applauding a known Nazi member of the murderous fascist Ukrainian Waffen SS Division (once referred to as Hitler’s willing executioners) that slaughtered 100,000 innocent Poles, Jews, Hungarians (Magyars) and Russian prisoners in World War 2 has given new meaning to the honoured saying “Lest We Forget”.
This exhibition of anti-Russian hysteria is awakening many Canadians to their countries historical practice of accepting waves of nationalist Ukrainians and others with Nazis pasts to the shores of Canada. These commonly referred to as DP’s fled Eastern Europe and likely incarceration in their Soviet occupied homelands in the aftermath of the allied victory in WW2.
The selective immigration of Ukrainian nationalist and other anti-Russian, anti-communist refugees from Eastern Europe was a means for capitalist orientated Canadian governments to change the political landscape and offset the political influence and electoral impact of the existing progressive, anti-imperialist diaspora of Ukrainian, German, Finish, and other émigré groupings that had come to Canada earlier.
The rising realization of a supported open door acceptance of post war criminal right-wing immigrants is shocking to many of us less than well informed Canadians.
